After getting the PA Secure family plan, all you need is an additional $18/year (per insured child) to enjoy Child care expenses and student¹ optional benefits. If your child is sick with an infectious disease from his classmate or falls due to an accidental push and cannot attend childcare or student care but you have to pay the childcare fee or student care days, you can get up to $500 in child care reimbursement or student care reimbursement made! It qualifies if your child has suffered an injury or caught an infectious disease, and has been hospitalized for at least 4 days, or on certified medical leave for at least 5 days.

For example, if your child gets sick with a contagious disease like hand, foot, and mouth disease in childcare (we know how often that happens, don't we?) and you need to take an emergency leave, you can have peace of mind knowing that your kiddo's childcare fees can be paid if they are on certified medical leave for at least 5 days.
